This Privacy Policy explains what data Lawfe ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. Lawfe is an AI-powered legal-information app; it is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Important — where your data goes. To answer your questions, the text you type and any documents or images you upload are sent to third-party AI providers, including DeepSeek (whose servers are located in China) and Google (Gemini). Please do not submit information you are not comfortable sharing with these providers. See Third-party processors below.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: email, name, country, and a device identifier (used to enforce one account per device).
  • Content you submit: your questions, AI conversations, and any documents or images you upload for analysis.
  • Lawyer data (lawyers only): professional details, credential documents, and directory profile (name, specializations, rating, fee).
  • Usage & subscription data: feature usage counters and subscription status (via our payment processor).

2. How we use it

  • To provide the service — generate AI answers, analyze documents, and connect users with lawyers.
  • To manage your account, subscription, and usage limits.
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Third-party processors (sub-processors)

Because DeepSeek processes data in China and other providers process data outside your country, your information may be transferred internationally. By using the AI features you consent to these transfers.

4. Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Note that messages and documents are not end-to-end encrypted, and the AI providers above necessarily receive your content in readable form to process it.

5. Data retention & account deletion

You can delete your account in-app (Profile → Delete account). This disables sign-in immediately. For business, audit, and legal-compliance reasons we may retain your account record and conversations after deletion. To request full erasure of your personal data and files (where no legal obligation requires us to keep them), contact us at the address below and we will action it within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR / CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export (portability), or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, contact us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Children

Lawfe is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; we will post the new version here with an updated date and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
